Laser scanning for BIM

چکیده

Obtaining useful data from reality capture devices, such as Terrestrial Laser Scanners (TLS), for the extraction of semantic information and its subsequent use to support Building Information Modelling (BIM) cases (e.g. Scan-to-BIM or Scan-vs-BIM -based cases) is a complex task that requires planning execution expertise. Point clouds quality need be produced following conscientious scanning. And once point are acquired, methodical pre-processing operations vital ensure finally high quality. This paper summarises some guidelines surveyors successful acquisition campaign, especially when these will employed automatic processes involving BIM, Scan-vs-BIM. The also recipients involved in those processes, BIM modellers Quality Control (QC) managers.

The value of integrating Scan-to-BIM and Scan-vs-BIM techniques for construction monitoring using laser scanning and BIM: The case of cylindrical MEP components

10 There is a growing need for tools automating the processing of as-built 3D laser scanned data, and more 11 particularly the comparison of this as-built data with planned works. This paper particularly considers 12 the case of tracking MEP components with circular cross-sections, which essentially include pipes, and 13 some conduits and ducts. Discrepancies between the as-built and as-planned...

Development of Kinematic 3D Laser Scanning System for Indoor Mapping and As-Built BIM Using Constrained SLAM

The growing interest and use of indoor mapping is driving a demand for improved data-acquisition facility, efficiency and productivity in the era of the Building Information Model (BIM). The conventional static laser scanning method suffers from some limitations on its operability in complex indoor environments, due to the presence of occlusions. Full scanning of indoor spaces without loss of i...

Optimization of the Scanning Angle for Countrywide Laser Scanning

Countrywide collection of laser scanning, mainly due to DTM derivation, is becoming increasingly attractive. Since Finland is a large country, optimization of scanning parameters is important from the economical point of view. High altitude measurements with large scan angle would be cost-effective if accuracy requirements are fulfilled. In this study two cases are described. In Masala low alti...
